Pep Guardiola has admitted Manchester City were interested in Pedro Porro's services as he was speaking in the pre-match conference ahead of facing Tottenham.
The Citizens are currently sitting in second place in the Premier League table, five points behind the leaders Arsenal. They will be looking to have a successful result on Sunday when they travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Spurs secured the transfer of Porro from Sporting Lisbon on the January transfer deadline day. Eventually, the player is expected to be part of his new team at the weekend.
"Perfect to play five at the back, last season we suffer when we play against Sporting. This season Tottenham vs Sporting, a good signing for Spurs," Guardiola said about Porro, via Manchester Evening News.
Speaking about the player's potential move to Etihad, the manager added: "No [we didn't think about re-signing], he was on the list but we didn't think about the buy-back. He decides to go to Spurs."
