"He’s useless": Pundit claims one player from Erik ten Hag's team is a complete dud

Pundit Eamon Dunphy has criticized Manchester United forward Antony, labeling him as 'completely useless.'

Speaking on The Stand, Dunphy expressed his belief that manager Erik ten Hag made a poor decision in signing Antony.

The Brazilian winger joined Old Trafford last summer for a reported fee of around £86 million and had a promising debut season. However, this term, Antony has yet to record a goal or assist in 18 appearances across all competitions.

Dunphy questioned the wisdom of Ten Hag's choice to bring in his former Ajax player and highlighted Antony's struggle to make a positive impact this season, echoing the difficulties faced by other United forwards like Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund.

With United's attacking performance falling short, there is a growing need for players like Antony to step up in the upcoming weeks. Despite acknowledging Antony's talent and previous success under Ten Hag at Ajax, Dunphy suggested that United may have paid too much for the Brazilian winger based on his current performances.

“Antony cost £90 million from Ajax, Ten Hag’s old club,” the pundit said. “He’s had chance after chance. He plays him every week, he’s useless," the pundit said, via TBR Football.
