Pundit Stan Collymore criticized Mason Mount calling him a player that is "never going to be the difference" in the squad.
Mount's tenure at Manchester United hasn't had the most auspicious start, marked by underwhelming performances and a lengthy injury setback. The English midfielder made the switch to Old Trafford during the summer as part of a £55 million deal, and there is pressure on him to demonstrate his worth for the remainder of the season.
Stan Collymore, a former footballer, is among those who harbor reservations about Mount. He believes that Mount is better suited as a squad player at a top club and suggests that Hannibal should be given the nod over him in the United starting lineup at present.
Mount's time at Stamford Bridge concluded with a dip in form, leading to doubts about his abilities before the move to Manchester.
“In my view, Mount is a jack of all trades, master of none type of player,” said the pundit in an exclusive interview with CaughtOffside.
“It’s about time managers dropped the rose-tinted glasses and saw him for what he is. He’s a squad player who will give you average performances across multiple positions. He’s never going to be the difference."
