Harry Kane has delivered his verdict on Danny Ings as Tottenham eye summer transfer

Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Danny Ings from Southampton after appointing Nuno Espirito Santo as head coach. And according to The Telegraph, Espirito Santo would like to strengthen his attacking options with the Saints striker, has frequently been linked with a move to Spurs in recent years. And should the transfer happen, it would almost certainly go down well with Harry Kane, who has waxed lyrical about Ings in the past, admitting that he is a "great player."
Speaking back in 2015 when Ings was still at Burnley, Kane said: "Danny's a great player. He scores goals, his movement's great and he's a prospect for English football.   "I know him well from the [England] Under-21s. It's down to the boss (to pick us) and we've both got to keep working hard, as do the other strikers who are trying to get a place.   "There are a lot of great English strikers here at the moment, which is good for the country. There's competition. We've all got to work hard to retain our place."
In 100 appearances for the Saints, Ings has scored 46 goals and claimed ten assists. Of those 46 strikes, 12 of them came in the Premier League last season, as he showed once again that he can be a consistent source of goals at the highest level.
