Guillem Balague: “Manchester City are not in for Matthijs de Ligt”

Manchester City are not interested in signing Ajax star Matthijs de Ligt in this summer’s transfer window, that’s from the point of view respected Spanish journalist Guillem Balague. Ajax captain has long been linked with Barcelona, PSG, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Manchester City. However, according to Balague, Pep Guardiola’s side are not prepared to pay De Ligt’s asking price. "Manchester City do not want Matthijs De Ligt. Manchester City feel that Barcelona are at the forefront of the situation and willing to pay the £60m that Ajax want for him," Balague said on his official YouTube channel. "Ajax do not want to do an auction for him, wherever he wants to go, he will go. And De Ligt has not made a decision but is very, very tempted by Barcelona. Bayern Munich and PSG also want him as well. But, at the moment, Barcelona are very confident." This season the 19-year-old has made 45 appearances for the club and has scored four goals.
