Glenn Hoddle does not believe Tottenham Hotspur will enter the January transfer window but predicted exits for Dele Alli and Harry Winks. Hoddle also claims an improving Gareth Bale can be like a new signing. Spurs spent the best part of £100million in the summer, spending big on the likes of Joe Rodon, Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Gareth Bale, Carlos Vinicius, and Joe Hart. It means a January spending spree is unlikely. “I don’t think he’ll touch it [January],” Hoddle said. “There might be players looking to leave. Dele Alli, Harry Winks comes to mind. They will have one eye on the Euros. I don’t see Alli or Winks going unless there is an unbelievable bid on the table. They need to be playing and I can’t see them getting in. They will focus on getting Bale closer to his top form. He’s a little fragile, on the back foot. He might be the new player Tottenham are looking for.”
