Genk technical director talks about the future of Celtic loanee
KRC Gent technical director Het Belang Van Limburg isn’t sure whether the Belgian side will make a permanent move for Celtic loanee Eboue Kouassi.Kouassi, who has joined Scottish champions in 2017 from the Russian side Krasnodar, has failed to make an impact and has been sent to Genk on loan terms. The 22-year-old player has appeared in three matches for his new club before the season was stopped due to the coronavirus outbreak. He has immediately become a starting lineup player for Gent, however, Kouassi could return to Celtic. “My focus is currently on the setup of the squad for next season. That has yet to be a final decision in the files of [Thomas] Didillon and Kouassi, two players whose purchase option in the loan must be lifted before the end of May. I also have discussions with players from our squad through alternative channels, such as FaceTime.” Van Limburg said (cited by Sport Witness)“I spend a lot of time looking at possible reinforcements on WyScout, the platform on which all possible game tapes can be found. Although we don’t yet officially know how or when this season will end, or when the next one will start, we still need to prepare as well as possible” he added. It is worth mentioning that Kouassi has played 22 times while wearing the Celtic shirt.
