Gary Neville revises his Man United season end prediction following Brentford comeback

Gary Neville has made a significant alteration to his prediction regarding Manchester United's final Premier League position following their remarkable comeback against Brentford.

With Erik ten Hag's team trailing 1-0 against the Bees in the final five minutes, it appeared they were headed for their fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions.

Such a streak had not been witnessed at United since 1961, and another loss at Old Trafford would have increased the pressure on the Dutch manager and his players.

However, an unexpected hero emerged as substitute Scott McTominay came off the bench to score two injury-time goals, securing a dramatic 2-1 victory.

This vital win propelled the Red Devils back into the top half of the Premier League table, and they now sit just five points behind the Champions League qualification spots after eight games played.

During his appearance on Sky Sports (quoted by Sport Bible), Neville decided to revise his earlier prediction regarding where his former club would finish in the table this season.

"I don't think Manchester United will finish in the top five this season. I just don't. They're way off it, and I'm surprised. Seven or eight weeks ago, I had them third."

"That's what happens when you've got a club that's failing - you sort of end up not knowing who the good guys are and the bad guys are.

"You end up calling the ones that have been there for a long time. They've got some good lads who have come in and been bought into the club, and they've got some good lads that have come through the ranks."
