Gary Neville has opened up on David De Gea, claiming Manchester United star now plays in the most difficult position in English football.
The Red Devils lifted the Carabao Cup trophy on Sunday as it was their first major achievement after a six-year wait. Erik ten Hag's side continue their run in three more competitions this season, with the Premier League, UEFA Europa League, and FA Cup still ongoing.
According to Neville, De Gea is now in the toughest position as the keeper comes under "more scrutiny" this season.
“I said it’s the single most difficult position in English football, to be the Manchester United goalkeeper," the pundit told the Overlap, via HITC.
"That’s not a disrespect to other clubs. I just think the Manchester United goalkeeper comes under more scrutiny, if they make a mistake, than any other position in English football on the pitch. It’s tough.”
