Former Tottenham star Darren Bent has hailed Willy Boly and suggested Tottenham take a chance on him.
Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld future are pretty much in the air, and Spurs have been linked with a move for the Wolves’ centre-back as a replacement.
In an interview with Football Insider, Bent said:
“Yeah when he’s (Willy Boly) been out the team, Conor Coady looks completely different. To be fair to Coady, he has done well, but when Boly is not next to him, he looks like a central midfielder playing as a centre-half, yet when Boly is next to him, he looks solid, composed and for me, I have wondered why no one has looked at him and think we’ll take a chance on him.”
The 28-year-old Boly moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers from Porto for €12 million in 2018 and since then he has become a key player under Nuno Espirito Santo’s management.
