Former PSV manager Aad de Mos believes there is a possibility of Xavi Simons joining Arsenal this summer.
Simons, who recently changed agents, has been in impressive form for PSV, scoring 19 goals and providing 12 assists in all competitions this season. This has generated interest from several top teams, and Arsenal is among those expected to make offers for the 20-year-old midfielder.
Simons joined PSV from PSG last June, and the decision of the French champions to let him go appears increasingly perplexing. However, they have the option to re-sign him for a fee ranging from €10 million to €12 million if they choose to do so.
De Mos believes that Simons could make a move to Arsenal, citing the midfielder's new agent, Darren Dein, who has connections in North London.
“It indicates that he is searching for his next move. Maybe he’s thinking about Arsenal. His new agents have many contacts there," he said, via Caught Offside.
With Arsenal's qualification for the Champions League next season after a six-year absence, the club could be an attractive destination for the player. Furthermore, Dein represents former Arsenal players Cesc Fabregas and Mathieu Flamini, which adds to the possibility of a potential move, as de Mos suggests.
