Fabrizio Romano shares latest developments in Arsenal's transfer dealings

Fabrizio Romano has shared the latest developments in Arsenal's transfer dealings, shedding light on the imminent signing of David Raya from Brentford.

The transfer expert revealed that the Spaniard has successfully negotiated personal terms with the Gunners and is enthusiastic about joining the club.

However, navigating negotiations with the Bees has proven to be a formidable challenge, given the club's reputation for their unyielding stance in such matters.

Despite these obstacles, Romano remains optimistic about the outcome and firmly believes that the deal could be solidified as early as this week.

In their pursuit of the 27-year-old, Mikel Arteta's side have tabled an offer of £20 million with an additional £3 million in potential add-ons. Discussions with Brentford are ongoing, with both parties working to find common ground for the transfer.

Concurrently, it seems that Matt Turner's departure is imminent. The American has expressed his intention to move to Nottingham Forest, and an agreement on the transfer fee has already been reached between the two clubs.

“Yes, it is close. It is not done yet but it is close. They still have to discuss a few things. We know Brentford are very strong in their negotiations so it is never easy to negotiate with them. Tottenham know that very well as they wanted David Raya but they decided to go with Guglielmo Vicario because negotiations with Brentford were very complicated.”

“Now Arsenal are in direct contact with Brentford. Even now as I speak they are discussing the details of the deal. Arsenal made a bid last week worth £20m plus £3m in add-ons. They already have an agreement with the player and David Raya wants to play for Arsenal.”

“Now they are in discussions with Brentford and are trying to find the best way to make this deal happen. I think there is a very concrete possibility to see the deal done this week.”  Romano said on DeBrief podcast.
