Chelsea' Noni Madueke's future at Stamford Bridge appears to be in a state of uncertainty, as suggested by transfer news authority Fabrizio Romano.
The winger, acquired by the Blues from PSV less than a year ago, initially showed promise after impressing in the Eredivisie and with the England youth teams.
However, his impact at Chelsea has been limited, and Romano, in an exclusive for CaughtOffside's Daily Briefing column, indicates that discussions might be on the horizon to determine the next steps for the player.
While the ultimate decision is unknown, the Italian transfer insider hints at the possibility that the West Londoners could opt to either loan out the 21-yead-old or potentially sell him permanently, pending the outcomes of the forthcoming talks.
“My understanding is it’s (Madueke) one of the situations Chelsea will discuss in the next 2-3 weeks,” the journalist said.
“Nothing has been decided yet for Madueke, but obviously he’s not playing as much as he’d love to. He’s also been injured and this is a topic to consider, so internal talks will take place soon to try to resolve things, for sure.”
