Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Cody Gakpo's future amid Leeds United's ongoing interest.
The Whites were seeking to complete the winger's transfer to Elland Road in the summer transfer window, however, it got collapsed on the final, deadline day.
According to the Italian journalist, Jesse Marsch's side are still keen to get the 23-year-old;s transfer in the coming months, when the winter window kicks.
Speaking on Here We Go podcast, Romano claimed that the Premier League side pushing hard with their chance but the player cud look up for bigger teams if he parts his ways with PSV in the future.
“Now what’s the situation? That Leeds are still hoping for Cody Gakpo. Southampton have been there for a long time. But from what I’m told now, the status of Cody Gakpo has completely, completely changed.
“So I think it’s going to be really difficult for Leeds and Southampton to go for Cody Gakpo and now there are top clubs following him not just in Premier League.”
Gakpo has made an 18-goal contribution to his in just 11 Eredivise matches so far this season.
