Ex Man Utd coach assistant opens up about being an easy target at the club

Chris Armas, a former assistant coach at Manchester United, has recently opened up about his time at the club.

Armas was appointed by interim manager Ralf Rangnick last season, but the partnership did not work out well. The American coach’s short-lived arrangement at Old Trafford ended when Ralf Rangnick left the club in May 2022.

The 50-year-old assumes that his background could've made him an easy target at the club during challenging times. He also added that the public, through the pen of journalists or other parties, have been exposed to some lies about his input in the training seasons.

"So that part, is it because I'm American? I'm not sure. But I think I became an easy target at a certain point in the season when things weren't going well”, said Armas via The Atlantic.

Until now, the coach assistant had not disclosed any specific details regarding his experiences at Manchester United. His role in the coaching staff was not significant enough to draw much attention from the media or fans.
