Erik ten Hag reveals why Manchester United signed Rasmus Hojlund instead of Harry Kane

Erik ten Hag has been quizzed on why Manchester United signed Rasmus Hojlund instead of Harry Kane as United prepares for their Champions League opener.

The Red Devils are preparing to face Bayern Munich in the UCL group stage opener on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

Ahead of the game, ten Hag gave a press conference and was asked about Hojlund's transfer.

Before signing the 20-year-old, United were linked with a move for Kane, however, the former Tottenham star ended up joining Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window.

Kane has already made 5 appearances for Munich in which he has scored 4 goals and provided 1 assist.

"I think we discussed it in San Diego. I don't think we have to repeat this debate. We are happy with Rasmus [Hojlund]. Obviously the first games he was injured. He played against Arsenal and Brighton. He is a big talent and he will contribute to our game. We are confident about that," said ten Hag.
