Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag praised Bruno Fernandes for doing everything in his power to recover as soon as possible ahead of the clash with Tottenham.
After facing Brighton at FA CUP's semi-final, Fernandes was seen in a protective boot and crutches in a photo shared by his wife. The Portuguese midfielder was forced to leave the pitch due to a foot injury on April 23.
Just four days after the layoff, Fernandes was back in the game against Tottenham, impressing everyone, including his club manager.
"It was tough so big compliment on Bruno, he absolutely doesn't want to miss the game. He did everything to get fit, you have to sacrifice if you want to play at the top level," Ten Hag told a press conference. The Dutch coach went on to mention that the attacking midfielder's mindset should be an inspiration to everyone in the squad.
On April 27, the Red Devils’ trip to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium resulted in a draw. The away team took charge of the game after goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford, but Tottenham made a comeback in the second half to equalize the score at 2-2.
