Dillian Whyte will not fight for the WBC title until February 2021.
In July, Whyte had failed a UKAD Dug test before his clash with Oscar Rivas and his position as mandatory challenger to Deontay Wilder’s belt was suspended.
At their annual convention in Mexico, the WBC released the following statement on Whyte: “No. 1 ranked Dillian Whyte’s situation is in process with UKAD and Whyte’s representatives, and with the WBC. If his situation is resolved, he will become the mandatory challenger for February 2021.”
Wilder is set to defend his WBC title against Luiz Ortiz on 23 November before an already-scheduled rematch with Tyson Fury in February next year.
