Defensive Blow: Manchester United defenders suffered injuries in a late-collapse draw with Sevilla

Manchester United's first-choice center-backs, Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane were forced off the Europe League quarter-final against Sevilla. Martinez, who was carried out off the pitch, appeared to have injured his lower leg or foot area. In the post-match observation the United boss Erik ten Hag assured that the player’s “Achilles area” was not hurt. As for Varane’s injury, its nature remains unclear.

This added to the club’s injury list just days after the team’s forward, Marcus Rashford was sent off due to a muscle injury at Old Trafford.

The match with Sevilla went downhills for the Red Devils in the second part of the game. They blew their two-goal advantage with own-goals by captain Harry Maguire and Tyrell Malacia.
