Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi is not guaranteeing the sale of Moises Caicedo, despite Chelsea's rejected £70m offer for the Ecuador international.
De Zerbi spoke with chairman Tony Bloom and indicated that if the conditions don't change, Caicedo will remain with Brighton.
“For me it should be great news because it is difficult to find another player like Moises," said the 44-year-old, highlight the importance of keeping a player like Caicedo in the squad.
If the Chelsea target were to leave for Stamford Bridge, the Seagulls would need to find an equivalent replacement to maintain their level of performance and compete in the Europa League.
“He has to know he is playing for Brighton and he has to give his best to Brighton," stated the club manager.
In addition, De Zerbi praised the 21-year-old's attitude and behavior. He denied making any promises to Caicedo about a potential transfer and confirmed that he sees the player as part of the team's starting XI for the upcoming season.
