David Moyes names a tactic that could stop Erling Haaland during Manchester City vs West Ham

West Ham manager David Moyes has admitted that kicking Erling Haaland may be the best strategy to stop the Norway international when his team face Manchester City on Wednesday.

The upcoming match is significant for both teams: City are seeking another win as they compete for the Premier League title against Arsenal. Meanwhile, West Ham are just four points above the relegation zone and would need a surprise victory to create a gap between themselves and the bottom four.

During his league debut back in August, Haaland scored two goals versus the Hammers, and Moyes believes that his team may have to use dirty tactics to prevent him from repeating that performance.

When asked how to stop Haaland, Moyes replied he doesn't believe anyone knows the answer. However, the boss later admitted that kicking the striker may be the most effective way to stop him.

"Yeah, that might be the best way! You are maybe hoping he has a weakness," he said, via Express Sport.

"That he cannot run or he is not good in the air or his touch is not good. But he is all-round and surrounded by teammates who can provide him with balls in the air, balls through the middle, cut-backs for finishes - and he can finish with his left, right."
