Manchester United player Alexis Sanchez, who is currently on loan at Inter Milan, suffered dislocated ankle tendons during Chile's friendly game against Colombia on October 12.
The player is facing up to three months out if he undergoes surgery, says Chile manager Reinaldo Rueda.
“You have to see if the club [Inter] will operate on Alexis or not. You have to see what diagnosis the club will make because he is decisive for us," said Rueda.
"If he has surgery you will lose him for two to three months, if not, it can be weeks, that depends on the club. You always want to have them all here and losing Alexis is a shame, he was cheerful and super motivated."
Inter Milan's upcoming game will be against Sassuolo on Sunday, October 20.
