Wesley Fofana: Unfortunately, Fofana faces an extended spell in the treatment room with an ACL injury, potentially ruling him out for the rest of the campaign.

Trevoh Chalobah: Chelsea's announcement in October revealed that the 24-year-old had setbacks in his recovery from a thigh problem, keeping him unavailable for selection.

Carney Chukwuemeka: The midfielder suffered a setback in his rehabilitation from a knee problem and remains under the care of the medical team.

Romeo Lavia: Despite nearing recovery from an ankle problem, the Belgian starlet was overlooked for his debut. His readiness for the Old Trafford match will be assessed in the coming hours.

Marcus Bettinelli: The Blues backup goalkeeper has been absent from the first team due to an unspecified injury, making him unavailable for the upcoming squad.

Conor Callagher: Reece James and Marc Cucurella are poised to rejoin the squad after each completing a one-game suspension. However, Gallagher will be absent as he faces his own suspension, having received two yellow cards in the match against the Seagulls.
