Chelsea may be considering selling Conor Gallagher to Tottenham, who are reportedly interested in making a £45 million move for Gallagher before the end of the January transfer window.
Gallagher, who has captained Chelsea on several occasions this season, wishes to remain at Stamford Bridge, having been with the club since he was eight years old. However, the Blues may be swayed by the £45 million offer, especially considering Gallagher has only 18 months left on his contract. As an academy product, his sale would be pure profit for Chelsea, which could help them avoid breaching financial regulations.
According to the CIES Football Observatory's statistical model, Gallagher's transfer value is approximately £42.5 million (€49.8 million). This valuation places the player as more valuable than some prominent Premier League players, such as Mohamed Salah and Son Heung-min, due to his younger age and homegrown status.
While Gallagher's contractual situation is similar to Salah's and Son's, his youth and status as a homegrown player contribute to his higher valuation. Despite his quality, Salah and Son are valued lower by CIES due to their age and contractual circumstances.
