Chelsea's Armando Broja Targets Pre-Season Comeback Following ACL Injury

Chelsea striker Armando Broja has been sidelined since suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in a friendly against Aston Villa in Abu Dhabi in December. However, he has started light training and aims to return to action during Chelsea's pre-season tour of America this summer. The friendlies that will set off in June include matches against Wrexham, Newcastle, Fulham, Brighton and Borussia Dortmund.

The 21-year-old is expected to be fit for these friendlies if he does not encounter any setbacks in his recovery. Despite Chelsea's plans to sign a new striker, possibly Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig, Broja hopes to impress the new head coach, and cement his place in the team. The Blues' new manager is likely to be Mauricio Pochettino, who is the firm leader in the talks for the managerial position.

While many of Chelsea's homegrown players face uncertain futures, Broja recently signed a six-year contract with the club, and the Chelsea hierarchy have no plans to sell him this summer.
