Chelsea are nearing the signing of Ben Chilwell with Leicester now resigned to losing their star. The left-back is said to be keen on joining the Blues and a £75million price tag has been mentioned. Leicester are considering a move for Ryan Bertrand, who has just one year left on his Southampton contract, to replace Chilwell.
Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz should join Chelsea over rivals Man United this summer, ex-Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes.
“When a player like Kai Havertz changes clubs and signs somewhere for five years, the long-term perspective is more important,” he told Sky Sports Germany. “Perspective is important for a player, but Manchester [United] has been bobbing in a vacuum for years. On the other hand, if I look at Chelsea, they have a coach with Frank Lampard who did a great job for the club as a player – and I have the feeling that the Blues are growing again after a long time. For the first time in a long time, you have a team with which the fans can really identify.”

Chelsea will reportedly target Layvin Kurzawa if they are unable to sign Leicester’s Ben Chilwell. According to the Express, the Blues are eyeing a free transfer for the Paris Saint-German left-back should a Chilwell move fall through. Kurzawa, 27, is out of contract this summer and has previously been linked with Arsenal.
Thomas Muller would love to see Chelsea target Kai Havertz join Bayern Munich.
The 2014 World Cup winner said: “In my last appearances for the national team, I enjoyed training and playing with him. He’s an extremely good player, if not Europe’s top talent for his age. He has very good abilities. Of course at Bayern we want to have the best players with the best abilities. Unfortunately, I have no insight into the financial area and the sports director area.”
Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma is reportedly attracting interest from Everton and Tottenham. According to The Express, the Frenchman is set to spark war between the two Premier League clubs starting at around £25million. Zouma spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Goodison Park so may favour the Toffees over Spurs should he leave Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are reportedly willing to listen to offers.
Chelsea have reportedly enquired about on-loan Borussia Dortmund ace Achraf Hakimi. According to 90min, the 21-year-old Morocco international has caught the eye of the Blues as well as Manchester City and Tottenham. Hakimi is on loan at Dortmund from Real Madrid and it is said they are open to him leaving the Bernabeu permanently this summer.
