Manchester United is preparing a £55m bid for Chelsea homegrown talent Mason Mount, according to Daily Mail.
Mount has missed the last weeks of the season while Chelsea has been struggling to maintain their spot in the second half of the Premier League table. The Chelsea academy graduate, who has achieved a key place in the squad for the past few years is one of the Blues whose contracts are expiring in 2024
Several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in landing the skilled midfielder, with the latter, apparently most enthusiastic to do so. According from sources from Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag's side is opting to suggest a price around the range of £55m, which is lower than Mount's £85m Chelsea salary.
The English international joined the Blues in 2019 with a 5-year as an attacking midfielder. Mount joined Chelsea's youth academy at the age of six, and he progressed through the ranks before making his first-team debut in 2019. The club’s standout performer is yet to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge and is unlikely to settle for the wage that Chelsea can offer him currently. This is mind, Ten Hag might have to increase the star's valuation if he is determined in signing him this summer.
Manchester United's position and interest in Mount is clear, yet the 24-year-old's future remains a hot topic.
