Chelsea handed major injury blow ahead of FIFA Club World Cup

Chelsea have been handed a major injury blow as Mason Mount has been subbed through injury in the game against Plymouth on Saturday. The Blues celebrated a 2-1 win with Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso all netting for the wes Londoners, while Macaulay Gillesphey marked his name on the scoresheet for Plymouth. In the aditional time of the clash, Mount was replaced by Saul Niguez. After the game Chelsea's assistant coach Arno Michels, who was replacing Covid-19 positive-tested Thomas Tuchel, was asked about Mount's possible injury. Michels replied:
"Hopefully not, we will see. He felt an injury in extra time with this shot on goal. Only by this shot – it wasn't a serious problem during the game – it was only when he had the shot he realised he had quick he felt pain and so we took him off.   "We will see. There will be further exams. Hopefully, it's not too bad but right now I can't promise what the situation is."
Blues are set to play in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final on Wednesday, and hopefully Mount can be back at that time. Source - football.london Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
