Chelsea could still be made to wait for Hakim Ziyech transfer completion from Ajax

Ajax star Hakim Ziyech agreed to join Chelsea in February for a fee of about €35million. However, there is no guarantee that he will join the club on July 1. Ziyech agreed to join Chelsea in February for a fee of about €35million but Ajax's season is likely to run deep into the summer after the Dutch FA last week unveiled plans to resume their campaign on June 19. Premier League clubs vote to end the season by June 30 as teams await further clarity from FIFA relating to the next transfer window. Should that completion date be made, it would potentially pave the way for an English transfer window to open on schedule but there is no clarity on what would happen with international moves. What that means for deals already agreed, however, remains to be seen. Ajax's season, meanwhile, is likely to run deep into the summer after the Dutch FA last week unveiled plans to resume their campaign on June 19. Should the Eredivisie season continue into July, it is almost certain that the Netherlands' transfer window will be delayed. Ziyech would still arrive in time for the start of the next campaign but it is possible that his pre-season may be postponed. Source: Football.london
