Bruno Fernandes shares bold admission following Portugal's painful World Cup exit

Bruno Fernandes has shared bold admission on Portugal's surprising elimination from the World Cup.

The European giants suffered a shocking 1 - 0 defeat by competition's underdog Morocco. Walid Regragui's made history by becoming the first African nation to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.

However, Portugal's players questioned referee Facundo Tello's professionalism after the Argentine disallowed a penalty on the Manchester United star following the challenge from Achraf Hakimi.

"They have clearly tilted the field against us". inisisted Fernandes after the match.

The 28-year-old started in four of his side's five matches and the only time he came off the bench was during a 2-1 loss against South Korea in the final group stage match.

Speaking in his post-match interview, United's playmaker admitted it's a very difficult time for the squad but they will definitely come back with a response soon to represent their country in the best way.

"This squad will be back and will give a great response: everyone here represents the squad with maximum commitment and commitment. We always want to represent our country in the best way."

"It is very difficult to express in words. It is a difficult and sad time for us. We had ambition and quality for more. There's always something else we can leave on the field. But, I repeat, the delivery and commitment was total. The big difference was that we couldn't score goals, and they knew how to defend very well."
