Brighton faced Rayo Vallecano in a friendly game on Sunday and Moises Caicedo, who is linked with Chelsea, wasn't in the squad.
It was confirmed, that he had minor hamstring tightness due to which he missed the game.
The Blues are interested in signing Caicedo after having signed Nicholas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku.
According to Ben Jacobs, a year ago Marc Cucurella missed an Espanyol friendly with a minor calf issue and joined the Blues six days later.
Chelsea will bid for the player again soon.
