Brighton confirm another January exit as international midfielder seeks fresh start

Brighton midfielder Yasin Ayari has made a loan switch from Coventry City to Blackburn Rovers for the remainder of the season.

The 20-year-old Swedish international, who previously spent the first half of the season on loan at Coventry, reunites with Albion teammate Andy Moran at Ewood Park.

Commenting on the move, Technical Director David Weir mentioned that while the Swedish was a regular in Coventry's squad, he faced limited playing time, prompting the decision for the loan switch.

“Yasin was a regular in the squad at Coventry, but he was finding playing time limited.

“We feel his move to Blackburn will give him more opportunities to play, and we’re looking forward to following his progress in the second half of the season.”

Ayari, who joined Albion in January 2023 from AIK in Sweden on a four-and-a-half-year deal, made his Premier League debut as a substitute in a 2-0 victory at Bournemouth in April 2023.

He later secured his first start in the season's final game against Aston Villa.
