Bradford Bulls showed a strong defensive display as they claimed the scalp of Castleford Tigers in their Boxing Day friendly at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle winning 20-14.
Left winger Joe Brown bagged two of the Bulls' four tries and the others came from Sam Hallas and Rowan Milnes, who added two goals.
Tigers replied with tries by newcomer Danny Richardson, Joe Summers and Jacob Doyle, with Calum Turner tagging on a goal.
From the Bulls new signings Greg Johnson (wing), Anthony England (prop), Adam Rooks (second row) were given their debuts, and utility player Sam Barlow as well, who came off the bench.
The visitors did well to keep the score to 4-4 by half-time, especially as they conceded four goals and lost Liam Kirk due to a neck injury, which was later diagnosed as whiplash.
