Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane speaks about his place in the starting line-up and one point difference with Manchester United

Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane is currently on international duty with his Republic of Ireland National team. Group D leaders lost points in their EURO 2020 qualifier against Georgia, in Tbilisi, as the game ended with a goalless draw. However, in a post-match interview with Vbet News, Hourihane said, that there is something good about the match. "Some positivity is that we got a draw. We know we can play better," he said. Ireland's next game will be against Switzerland, on Tuesday, October 15. Ahead of his next international fixture, the 28-year-old spoke about his place in Aston Villa's starting XI. "I'm trying to play as many games as I can. I feel like we started okay," said the player. When asked, why he is worried about his playing time, Hourihane answered: "Because there are always people who are trying to take place in games, What drives me every day it's not to make sure I start in eleven. I want to improve and make impossible for them to take the spot." Aston Villa are currently in the 15th place of the Premier League table, after making their way from the Championship to the PL. Dean Smith's side are only 1 point behind Manchester United but Hourihane doesn't think that it gives more motivation to them to finish near the top-six. "We need to look in ourselves play every game as well as possible and hopefully pick as many points as we can," concluded the player.
