The result is not in line with the performance. It was against a team who defends well, we had to not give any chances away. Once we were 1-0 up the task was clear for us, not to be caught on the long ball. “We can only look at ourselves on tonight’s result because 1-0 is the perfect result at home. It’s just down to us after that not to make a mistake. We had over 20 shots on goal, against Manchester United we had 33, and we lost games,” Wenger said. Despite the tough match Wenger keeps on believing Arsenal can reach the final. “It’s a special game. For us the task is clear. Of course you come out tonight with a bitter taste. We had chances to be in the final tonight. “That’s where the regret is. We were not clinical enough. We gave a goal away unfortunately that puts you in a very difficult position,” Wenger added.
