Arsene Wenger wanted £70m attacker for Arsenal, now he could end up at Tottenham

Tottenham and Arsenal may compete this summer to secure the services of Wolves star Pedro Neto, according to The Sun, via TBR Football

While Arsenal have been linked with Neto for quite some time, Spurs have recently expressed interest in signing him as well.

Reportedly, Tottenham are among the clubs eager to acquire Neto, who is considered the most likely player to leave Wolves to fund their summer transfer activities. Meanwhile, the Gunners have also been monitoring the Portuguese international, who has been performing exceptionally well for Wolves lately.

It's expected that Neto will be sold by Wolves at the end of the season, with a price tag ranging between £60-70 million. The prospect of Tottenham and Arsenal competing for the 23-year-old's signature adds an intriguing dimension to their rivalry, extending it from the pitch to the transfer market.

For Arsenal, losing out on Neto to Spurs would be particularly disappointing, considering their long-standing interest in the player. Reports suggest that Arsene Wenger had targeted Neto during his time as Arsenal's manager, even when he was still developing his talent at Braga.

Ultimately, Wolves secured Neto's services after his spell at Lazio, and he has since blossomed into a standout performer in the Premier League.
