Arsenal urged to secure signature of 31-year-old Premier League attacker this month

Amidst swirling rumors hinting at Callum Wilson's potential departure from Newcastle United, Robbie Earle has suggested that Arsenal explore the prospect of securing the striker during the January transfer window.

Despite the Gunners' recent goal-scoring display, evidenced by a five-goal victory over Crystal Palace in their latest Premier League outing, lingering concerns persist among some supporters regarding the team's striking depth.

While Ivan Toney and Alexander Isak have been linked with the North Londoners, such moves are currently earmarked for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Mikel Arteta's squad has been vocal about the urgent need to acquire a new striker, given the lackluster performances of current forwards Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah this season.

Intriguingly, Wilson has surfaced as a potential departure from the Magpies, with reported interest from Atletico Madrid. Despite the Tynesiders; intention to retain the striker this month, the possibility of a summer departure to bolster funds remains on the table.

Nevertheless, Robbie Earle, sharing his insights on The 2 Robbies, proposed that Arsenal should consider exploring the option of inquiring about the £20 million-rated forward.

“I’ll chuck a little one at you. And it probably isn’t going to happen, but what about Callum Wilson? He’s apparently available at Newcastle because of Newcastle’s financial position and whatever. There’s talk about him going on loan to Atletico Madrid. Could I loan him for six months?

“I’m just saying if Arsenal are looking around at options, could Callum Wilson be a cheeky little option?”
