Former Tottenham forward Darren Bent advised Arsenal target David Raya to snub interest from the Gunners, despite having reportedly agreed on personal terms.
After an impressive performance during the previous Premier League season, the Brentford goalkeeper became a top candidate for some of the rival clubs in need of a new keeper. Currently, Arsenal are the frontrunners in their pursuit of the 27-year-old. At the Emirates, Raya will be Aaron Ramsdale's replacement.
Bent thinks that the Spaniard should not agree to play second to Ramsdale and should better accept Chelsea's offer. According to him, Raya would become the first-choice goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge.
‘David Raya is better than Kepa Arrizabalaga,’ Bent told talkSPORT. ‘So why would Chelsea not go for him?
‘And why would David Raya not think, “Hold on, why am I going to Arsenal to play behind Aaron Ramsdale? Why don’t I go to Chelsea and be their number one?”
The in-demand keeper's valuation is around £ 40 million.
