Former Chelsea star Petr Cech has expressed confidence in Arsenal's potential to clinch the Premier League title this season, placing them ahead of Liverpool and Manchester City.
The Gunners have showcased impressive form recently, notably sealing a commanding 6-0 victory against West Ham United on Sunday. Prior to that, they secured a much-needed 3-1 triumph over Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta's side has now clinched four consecutive domestic league victories, propelling them to third place in the standings, tied on points with Manchester City. Although both teams trail league leaders Liverpool by two points, Pep Guardiola's side possesses a game in hand.
In discussions about the ongoing title race, the 41-year-old goalkeeper shared his insights with Sky Sports, acknowledging the intensity and unpredictability of this season's competition.
"At this moment, I think Arsenal. This season, it will be very close. I actually think they might do it." the forme Czhech intneratioa admitted via Sportskeeda.
Last season, the Gunners came pretty close to clinching the league title. They maintained their position at the top of the table for 248 days, only to finish five points behind eventual winners, City. The north London club's last triumph in the top flight dates back to the 2003/04 season when they achieved an unbeaten run throughout the league campaign.
