Arsenal keen to pursue £70m forward instead of Ivan Toney for Arsenal

Mikel Arteta has personally honed in on a high-value £70 million forward, opting for an alternative to Brentford sensation Ivan Toney.

As Arsenal's ambitions reach new heights in their quest for the Premier League title, a range of transfer targets have surfaced for both the upcoming January transfer window and the broader scope of 2024.

While recent reports have connected the club with relatively lesser-known talents like Royal Antwerp's standout Arthur Vermeeren and Club Brugge's sensation Andreas Skov Olsen, it's Toney's name that continues to dominate the headlines in the context of the Gunners' transfer endeavors.

The Bees' star who delivered 20 league goals prior to his temporary absence due to a gambling ban last season, is undoubtedly on the cusp of becoming one of the most sought-after assets in the upcoming transfer market.

The striker's impressive record has drawn interest from the likes of Chelsea, and Tottenham as well with former Arsenal icon Ray Parlour asserting the urgent need for a fresh striker at the Emirates.

“I do believe that is the position that Arsenal needs to strengthen," explained Parlour on talkSPORT.

"But, it ultimately depends on player availability and financial negotiations to ensure it’s the right deal for Arsenal. Ivan Toney would be a great acquisition. Let’s wait and see how things develop.”
