Arsenal are expected to propose an offer to Sporting for an initial loan deal for Goncalo Inacio.
The deal, which will be initiated in the January transfer window, will include a mandatory purchase option. Arteta is likely to focus on bolstering the defense in the upcoming summer, with the 22-year-old center-back Inacio catching the attention of North Londoners.
Inacio, who debuted for Sporting as a teenager in October 2020, has rapidly emerged as one of the most promising talents in the Primeira Liga. His progress has earned him a spot in the Portugal national team under Roberto Martinez, securing his first cap in March.
Sporting has set a £52m release clause in Inacio's contract, valid until June 2027, and they are prepared to wait for an offer approaching that amount.
Tottenham are also reportedly interested in the Portugal international.
