Manchester City's impressive form this season has not only caught the attention of fans but also fellow professionals. The team extended their winning streak to 10 matches across all competitions with a hard-fought victory against Everton on Saturday.
City eventually broke through Everton's defense in the 71st minute when Erling Haaland scored a powerful goal. The Norwegian striker later added another goal to secure the win.
Andros Townsend shared how some of the Luton Town squad were following the match before their own game against Sheffield United and witnessed City's dominance.
Upon seeing City bringing on players like Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker around the 60-minute mark, they were convinced that City would eventually prevail, which indeed happened as City stepped up their game and secured the victory.
“I’ve got to say as well, we were preparing for our game on Saturday,” he told the BBC’s Monday Night Club, via Manchester City News.
“A few of the boys are watching the Everton game on their phones and just after 60 minutes when we see Man City bring on Kevin De Bruyne and bring on Kyle Walker, we’re like yeah City have got this now. They’re going to switch it up and turn it up and they did exactly that.”
