Alexis Sanchez suffers huge injury blow on Chile duty and could be ruled out until next year

Alexis Sanchez looks set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after he suffered dislocated ankle tendons while on international duty with Chile. The Manchester United player, who is currently on loan at Inter Milan, was taken off in the 88th minute of his country's goalless friendly with Colombia.  A statement from the Chile national side's official website confirmed that the injury was a serious one. The statement read: "The medical team of the Chilean National Team informs that the player Alexis Sanchez presented in the second half of the match with Colombia [suffered] dislocation of left ankle peroneal tendons with retinal compromise." The news comes as a huge blow to both Inter and Sanchez, who is trying to resurrect his career following a miserable two seasons at United.
