The Premier League all-time goalscorer Alan Shearer praised Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy’s form following a record-breaking 9-0 victory over Southampton.
Vardy alongside Ayoze Perez bagged a hat-trick during Friday’s game with the Saints, and currently is the top scorer in the Premier League this season with nine goals.
Shearer has included Vardy in his official Premier League team of the week, praising his current form:
"The hottest striker in the Premier League right now, his pace, footwork and finishing ability was too much for Southampton," said Shearer.
Vardy’s teammates Ben Chilwell and Ayoze Perez were also included in his team.
"A constant threat down the left flank, getting into good areas and delivering the end product with a goal and two assists," he said of Chilwell.
On Perez, Shearer said: "Southampton never got to grips with his movement and his finishing was clinical as he racked up a hat-trick
Meanwhile, Shearer made Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers his manager of the week.
"Many teams would have taken their foot off the gas but Leicester's manager has instilled a culture that makes his players hungry for more," he said. "The Foxes have one more point at this stage than when they won the title in 2015-16."
