Arsenal defender Pablo Mari is set to complete a permanent move to Monza after the Serie A club secured their top-flight status.
Monza have activated a £4.4 million option in the 29-year-old's loan deal. This transfer will be Arsenal's first piece of business in the upcoming summer window. Mari's contract at the Emirates Stadium expires in June 2024, but Monza is expected to make the move permanent during the off-season.
The Spanish defender made 22 appearances for Arsenal before going on loan to Udinese last season. Mari has played 29 games for Monza, even wearing the captain's armband, and has contributed one goal.
Sources close to Football Insider revealed that the terms of the deal are settled and should be completed within the next few days.
Ahead of the summer transfer window, it was revealed that fourteen Gunners are set to leave the Emirates Stadium.
