Richard Dunne expressed his admiration for Harry Kane after the striker's impressive performance, with two goals for England against Italy, going as far as to say that Kane is a superior striker to Manchester City's Erling Haaland.
England secured their place in the Euro 2024 finals with a 3-1 victory over Italy at Wembley. Despite falling behind early due to a goal from Gianluca Scamacca, Kane equalized from the penalty spot.
A goal from Marcus Rashford and another from Kane sealed the win for England. Dunne, a former Manchester City defender, was truly impressed by Kane's outstanding display, considering the 30-year-old to be a better striker than City's Haaland.
“They’re not the same team if he’s not in the XI. He’s just one of the world’s best strikers. Probably is the world’s best number nine, even, above Haaland, for what he brings to the team," he said, via Manchester City News.
“His involvement in the side. He allows players like Rashford, like Bellingham to go and have the freedom to do what they want. England won’t have a chance of winning the Euros if Harry Kane is not in it (the team)," Dunne added.
