£50m striker responds when asked about replacing Aubameyang at Arsenal

Porto striker Mehdi Taremi has reacted when asked about replacing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Arsenal. Gunners are currently in a chace of a striker with Alexandre Lacazette's contract situation and Aubameyang's future up in the air. Reports recently have suggested that Taremi, a 29-year-old targetman with 27 goals in 52 games for the Iranian national team, is linked with a move to Arsenal. However, when asked about the Gunners’ apparent interest following Thursday’s 1-0 victory over Iraq – Taremi’s winning goal securing his nation’s place at the 2022 World Cup – the striker was noticeably reluctant to say anything clear.

“Now it’s better to talk about the national team,” he said.   “Because this team has now gone to the World Cup.”
