Sports journalist Fabrice Hawkins has reported on Twitter that Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto has received his first senior international call-up.
This opportunity came about as he was selected to replace Dayot Upamecano from Bayern Munich in France's squad.
The 20-year-old had a promising start to his season with the Blues after rejoining the club during the summer. Following Reece James' injury in the opening week, he became the preferred right-back and performed impressively.
However, a red card in a match against Aston Villa due to a strong challenge led to Mauricio Pochettino exploring different options.
Gusto's performance has evidently caught the attention of the senior international side, as indicated by Hawkins, who revealed that he has been included in the first-team squad.
The starlet will join his club mate Axel Disasi as a late addition to the national team.
