Caught the eye here a fortnight ago, when a staying-on third in arguably a better race than this. Back at an appealing mark – he’s 3lb lower than his C&D triumph a few years ago – and should enjoy the prospect of running on decent ground.

Held his own in two good races at Carlisle in November and he should be raring to go after a mini-break. Narrowly failed on his last outing over three miles. He still has much more to offer over hurdles and looks well handicapped on his best form. This drop in trip will also play to his strengths.
