Tottenham Hotspur star Heung –Min Son has posted an emotional message to the fans ahead of his return to the club after his exploits at the Asian Games.
Son, who will return to Spurs in time for the match against Liverpool on September 15, posted an emotional message on his Instagram account.
"2018 Asian Games winner! Our team members, coaching staff and our support staff thank you so much. I feel so grateful for the support for our team. Thank you so much for making me really shine for the first time in my first time in this international competition.
"I really appreciate it very much. And I really do not know what to say to the fans or fans around the world who really support me. I do not know what to say. Too much support. Too many cheers. I feel very responsible and thankful."
Son added: "Thank you for making memories that I will never forget in my life for the future. For the future of the Republic of Korea, for the football of the Republic of Korea. Everything! Thank you and love. The gold medal is the people's."
The 26-year-old played his part as South Korea won gold medals at the Games in Indonesia, showing character to see off Japan 2-1 after extra-time in Saturday’s final.
